    I’m delighted
I have this installed for about two years now. It seems to work perfectly. It sends notifications to me on my phone. I recommend it.

D-Link Water Sensors are good to go!
Easy installation! And I was able to easily add additional (and affordable) sensor pods for additional protection. Definite recommend this product. The app is easy to use and administer.

    Good Device, Lousy App
As part of my job, I’ve worked with various D-Link network products and have been pleased with them. This Water Leak Sensor and Alarm was easy to set up and it works well. I really like the ability to extend the sensor cable using a standard phone cable. However …We lost power to the house a few days after I first set it up, but when the power came back on the devices did not reconnect to the wireless network. I had to unplug the main sensor and plug it back in to get it on the network. The wireless sensor also had to be reset. I hope that doesn’t happen every time because my sensors are hard to get to.The mydlink android phone app lacks functionality for this product. It seems geared towards their other camera and home automation products. If water is detected, the app notifications are minimal. It pops up right away, but fades away in the sea of other calendar, text, e-mail, … notifications. If you’re not paying close attention, you may miss the SINGLE notification. I ignore my phone for hours at a time. It needs to be an alarm. If my encapsulated crawl space is being flooded, I want this app to pester me until I acknowledge it.The notifications from the app are the only option. I’d like to include multiple e-mail and/or text addresses to ensure the entire household is aware of the problem. Looking for more options, I logged in with the same account at mydlink.com. It wouldn’t work with Firefox, Edge or Chrome. mydlink.com only supports Internet Explorer 11 or the unsupported Firefox 52 ESR (from 2017-18). That’s inexcusable. On top of that, it doesn’t list my devices in my account, and it only shows product information on their camera products. Absolutely useless. Also, the app ignores the phone’s screen timeout setting. If you set your phone down with the mydlink app visible, the screen will not turn off (and lock the phone) and it will drain your battery.Update: After another power outage, and manually resetting my Internet router, these devices will never come back on-line without recycling the power to them. If they fail to connect to my wireless network one time after a power outage, because they power up faster than my router, they will NEVER try to connect again. If I reset my router, they will NEVER try to reconnect. I surprised that a company that makes decent computer networking gear, with “Link” in their name, can’t get this device to reconnect to the network without turning it off and back on.

    TOTALLY WORKS!
Back in January we were about to sit down to supper when the Master Sensor alarm sounded! I opened the app on my phone and saw that the remote sensor, located in the crawl space and assigned to the master bathroom, was the source of the alarm. Well d@#$! Our crawl space, though dry and not at all nasty, is still my least favorite place to hang out; anyway I confirmed that the toilet was the culprit. After removing the toilet I confirmed that the wax ring had failed; better yet that the toilet had not been installed correctly and finally, years down the road had failed; as in the toilet flange was well below floor level! Dried everything out with a de-humidifier, corrected the toilet flange issue and re-installed the toilet. The reason why we installed the water sensors in the first place was that a few years back the toilet installation in the second bathroom had failed, and it was MONTHS later before we knew about it; yeah that wasn’t pretty! We are really happy with this system; great value and most importantly IT WORKS!

    Zero Integrations
How dissapointing. The water sensor itself is great, it’s well constructed, it works immediately, and I was happy for a few days. But you can’t do anything with it. It has a very limited Google Home integration where your homes will tell you if they detect water, but you cannot customize or do anything with the device. There is no public API, there is no integration with Home Assistant, there is not even a port open on the device to talk to. This may sound technical to some, but for the average joe essentially it means you can only use this with their (kinda crappy) app, and the siren the sounds. You will not be able to do any custom alerts or alarms. Only the dlink app.I’ll probably be returning this (decently crafted) device due to DLink’s short shortsightedness.

IT WORKS (found out the hard way)
Just ordered a new washer/dryer tower, which sits on recently refinished hardwood floors (over a finished basement). Saw positive reviews for this online (e.g. NYT Wirecutter) and went ahead and ordered. Hands down best insurance we ever bought! Sure enough, the washer leaked like crazy and this device alerted us via mobile app IMMEDIATELY (saving us from a worse nightmare). Great product, strongly recommended.Only issue we’ve experienced is when we first went to install/set up the app – we never received the registration email link. Tried again a couple days later (thankfully) and sure enough set up was successful (hard to say what caused the email delay, could be a number of factors unrelated to D-Link).

Disappointing – Disconnects when it updates and can’t reconnect to strong wifi without unplug/replug
I purchased this because I needed a water sensor with an external probe to go into a sump. My biggest complaint is It will loose it’s wifi connection after a firmware upgrade even though my access point is only 10ft away. When this happens, I need to physically unplug and plug it back in to get it to reconnect! This is a bad bug that should be fixed immediately and never should have passed QA! This device uses D-link’s newer smart home app called Aquila, so if you already have older devices using MyDlink app, you will probably be running two apps. Note: you must take the initial firmware upgrade when prompted or it will not update, and app leak notifications will not work. Pairing the 2nd remote device can also be a buggy experience. I don’t torchure myself trying anything with Google Home anymore but can say it definitely does not work with Alexa, though to be fair, it is not advertised as such. There is an Alexa skill for Aquila, but this device is not supported.

The electric power input for the device is 110 volt which is not suitable for Saudi Arabia
