    Impressive and great features
Impressed with all the options and features. UI Is a bit confusing tho and I do agree that the hands/vein technology is difficult to get to work. I’m gonna try creating multiple versions of my hands to see if that’ll improve things like I’ve done with the thumbprint one. Actually wishing I had the fingerprint one still. The video mechanism works great and you can choose different lengths to film, which I really like. I did feel that the battery could’ve lasted a bit longer. It lasted about a month before it needed recharging them but the four AA batteries held fine while it was being charged. This was with a lot of people coming in and out though.Np installing to door (although had my handyman do it). NOTE: after putting it together it will have u press a button in the back wheee the battery is and if u already put the cover on np bc it’s super easy to take off.I did have to try connecting a couple of times. If you have issues with this part and it talks about router settings go to your Internet provider settings online or app and change signal to 2.4 only from dual band (2.4 and 5.0) temporarily and then u won’t have a problem.

UPDATE: Turned out GREAT! You *CAN* duplicate keys and it offers so much smarts!
This product turned out to be ***really impressive**** and great! It’s a unique marvel of multiple products in one device: smart lock with keypad, palm reading, physical key, connected doorbell, digital peephole AND security camera with AI.If you struggle to record your hands, I have a suggestion. See video (uploaded low res for privacy). Start with your fingers on the sensor at the same angle of the palm reader (top of device) and slowly raise your hand while keeping the same angle vs the reader. At some point it will register/recognize it. This process became super simple for the whole family to register all hands. At the location it recognizes the palm you can then make a mark on the door frame with a pencil to help you remember the exact location and angle to use next time. Simple and easy. Also, I read information on the product page, and some reviews likely repeating the page info, that you cannot duplicate the keys “for security reasons”. ***BUT*** it turns out you can copy the keys as I did at the local hardware store, nothing different to other keys out there. This may seem like an issue but for us it was crucial to have the reassurance that we can each have a physical key to open the lock in an emergency if the battery or motor fails (it hasn’t). So yes you can easily copy the keys  (they include 2 with the device). The smart notifications detecting people at the door and recordings you can watch from anywhere and the autolock, state update and temporal passwords are already worth the price. On my first review, I was distressed that it required calling customer support to get the round faceplate to install on the door and that the customer support was not easy to reach. However customer support did reach out and did all they could to help me get the round faceplates quickly. Kudos to the eufy team!I encourage eufy to improve the product and communication in a number ow ways to make it even more awesome:Have better information on keys being able to be duplicated if needed, nothing to fear as every other similar lock out there will let you do that and this is an asset that could turn customers away fearing only 2 keys are included. Also, try to include all the right hardware in the box to avoid the issue of extra calls. Finally better support training to resolve and escalate things quickly.Overall, a great impressive product and team and I look forward to keeping using this device and learning more about the ways Eufy innovates in this space.

    Excellent product and fast detection
This is a wonderful product. It has greatly simplified getting into the house. Installing it and connecting it to the eufy app and the home system was straightforward. Palm detection is fast and awesome. Haven’t had to recharge the battery yet, but I do like that there is a backup battery in place. Product is solidly built, the key hole cover does seem to be loose and it does seem to leave traces wear / oil when using the numbers to unlock, so just keep that in mind (wipe the numbers every so often if using them)

    Nightmare of a product
I am a big eufy user. I own several eufy products: the cameras, the doorbell, the motion sensor, and the HomeBase 3. I expected the Familock would integrate flawlessly, just like my existing devices. I read the negative reviews, but I assumed those customers received defective units. That assumption turned out to be a major mistake.Installation Was Easy, Operation Is NotActually putting the lock on the door was easy. The instructions were good, and it went on just fine. The real headache started the minute I connected it to the HomeBase. Literally the next day, the lock just disappeared, it was offline in the app. I thought maybe my whole HomeBase died, but nope! Every other product, the doorbell right next to the lock, the cameras, was working perfectly.I had to close the app and reopen it three times before the lock decided to come back online. I hoped it was just a fluke, but I was wrong. This happens all the time now. The connection is totally unstable, and I constantly have to mess with the app just to see if my door is locked. The Missing Matter/HomeKit FeatureAnother huge issue is the advertised compatibility. The product description clearly states it supports Matter and Apple Home connectivity. This is misleading. I have repeatedly attempted to connect it to HomeKit, and the app constantly returns an error message: “the camera cannot connect to matter at this moment.” The promised integration is completely unavailable. The Failure of Remote Access (And Value)The entire point of buying a Wi-Fi connected smart lock is to have reliable remote access—to check the status or unlock the door when you are away from home. Because this lock constantly drops its connection, that functionality is nonexistent. I cannot rely on this device when I need it most. Instead of getting a modern, convenient smart lock, I feel like I paid a huge sum of money for a completely unreliable product that barely functions better than a basicIn summary: The setup was easy, but the lock constantly drops its connection, making remote access impossible, and the Matter/Apple Home feature is falsely advertised. This product simply does not deliver the basic features expected of a smart lock. Save your money and look somewhere else.

I had a lot of high hopes and our family was very excited for this palm scanner. Instead, it turned into a full day of frustration, research and chats with support because after the installation process, it failed at the very first step of Calibrating. We’ve tried every possible solution in existence and nothing worked. It’s essentially a paperweight if you can’t get it to calibrate. During our search we found that it is indeed a common issue with these devices, specifically among the Eufy brand of smart locks. We have decided to return this defective and poorly thought out smart lock and will opt for a brand we used previously without issues. Disappointing.

Its nice and has all the key features such as the video camera, doorbell & passcode. If you forget to recharge or run out of battery you can use a key to unlock as well.

The lock itself seems rather decent but the installation is rather complicated and not universal at all due to only one faceplate (while many places will require the slim round circular faceplate). It’s a piece that might cost 50 cent which simply HAS to be included for a 500$ lock! But instead it says to contact eufy if you need one – I tried the chat or calling but no one seems to know anything about it. Now I cannot use the lock or have to do expensive modifications to my door in order to use it.Probably a great product with such a fatal flaw!!!

Very disappointed in this lock. We had high hopes but it gives nothing but problems when anyone that doesn’t want to use their palm with a code tries to use it. It constantly gets stuck in “rain mode” despite being on a covered porch and never getting wet. It’s gotten to the point where anyone that has a code needs to wait for us to remotely let them in. We have contacted eufy support but it’s been slow and the last response was a week ago. We had very high hopes for this but unfortunately we can’t recommend it
