Great product, tons of customization, app somewhat confusing at first.
I’ve had this for over a month now I have it vacuum my house twice per week, and on the weekend I have it do a full mop and VAC. Does a great job of hopping over the larger trim pieces on my floor, as well as sucking up the copious amounts of cat hair, my two indoor cats produce. I’ve been nothing but pleased with its performance. The app is a bit confusing and does take a good amount of experimenting and rifling around to fully understand and utilize to its full potential. That being said, most of the confusing parts of the app are not required, and you can use the automatic smart settings instead, which do produce good results. It is self emptying and I’m going on two months and have not needed to change the bag. The side brush and the filter are still in good shape as well. The suction power seems sufficient, I use it on standard suction almost all of the time, although there are three higher settings from there that I could use if needed. I have the option set for the vacuum to automatically increase suction on carpet as well as utilize the side brush on carpet and that has been a big improvement on its carpet performance. The vacuum seems pretty tough as it has been going around my house for almost 2 months now and really doesn’t have any signs of wear and tear. I have a smaller home and only use it on the upper floor, it usually finishes a regular vacuuming with about 70% battery life remaining, and on the big cleanup days with the VAC and mop usually finishes about 55% battery life remaining. May not be enough for larger homes, but it is smart enough to stop in the middle, go back to its station, charge back up, and finish a cleaning if your house is big enough to necessitate that, mind fortunately is plenty small enough to finish in less than one charge.Another great feature is you can set up automatic cleaning times and have them repeat so if you wanted it to vacuum every night or every other night you can do that. I have done that and it is kept my house nice and tidy. I just have to remember to open up doors to rooms and pick up cat toys off the floor before I go to bed. I let it run while I’m in bed and I have all the lights off in the house. It has a little flashlight that it can use to see where it’s going. It is smart enough that it does not need to bump into the walls like the old Roomba did. It does not bump into the walls very often.

    5/5 Would Recommend
I’ve had it for a week now and have no issues, only a cleaner home! The quality and performance are amazing. We used to have a Roborock robot vacuum and I loved that one too, no complaints at all. But since we have been moving across states and that one’s stuck in our storage unit in Florida for at least another six months, I decided it was worth getting another. I can always use one for upstairs and one for downstairs once we get our storage unit emptied and moved here to PA.I originally planned to just grab another Roborock, but after watching Vacuum Wars on YouTube, I found out about this brand. This exact model has been sitting at the #1 spot for months, while my old one is down around #13 now, so obviously I had to go with the better one 😂Feature-wise it’s pretty similar, but with a few new upgrades. For one, it actually climbs over edges! That’s a big deal because our house has all these 1-inch transitions between rooms with different floors (old-house problems), and this thing just lifts itself right up and over. My old one would just stop and mark it as an obstacle lol. It also has a camera on it to keep track of your pets while you’re gone. It will take pictures when it sees your pets and you can view them in the app later. It also takes photos of any little things on the ground, like if a pair of shoes are left behind. We don’t have a lot of carpet, just a few small rugs, but the suction is great. Even after using my upright Shark, I’d still see little bits left behind. This vacuum goes over it once and leaves it spotless. Also, not a big deal but worth mentioning, it announces when it’s done emptying the dirty water into the tank and reminds you to please empty the tank, which I love because the other one did not do that and I often would forget and leave it sitting for a few days. If you do that, the tank can get kind of grimy, so it’s really helpful for my ADHD brain that this one announces when it’s done and suggests you empty it lol.

A robot that finally feels like the future. No babysitting needed
I’ve owned robot vacuums for over a decade, mostly iRobot models and more recently the ECOVACS T50 MAX PRO Omni. I thought I’d seen the best the market had to offer, until I tried the Dreame L50 Ultra. The difference is unbelievable. My iRobots worked okay but needed constant attention, emptying the “self-empty” bag, logging into the app all the time, tangled brushes, poor mapping, frequent cleaning. The ECOVACS was even worse, random shutdowns, wiped maps, constant “maintenance required” messages, and frustration from day one. It even acted like it had tantrums, it would just shut down and refuse to move until I carried it back to the base. At least the iRobot would let me restart it remotely and send it home, better than nothing. Then I switched to the Dreame L50 Ultra and honestly, no words. It’s the first robot vacuum that feels genuinely autonomous. It mapped my home perfectly, cleans methodically, and even maintains itself. No tangled hairs, no manual rescues, no “I’m shutting down for no reason.” The only time I had to help it was when my dog blocked it, and it actually stopped and respected the pet. The regular maintenance is minimal, refill the water once a week, do a quick cleaning once in a while and that’s it. The rest it just handles by itself without drama. The suction power, mopping efficiency and obstacle avoidance are all excellent. The only weak spot is the app, it works but could use a bit more polish, but the robot itself is so well built it makes up for everything. After 10 years of using iRobot and ECOVACS, the Dreame L50 Ultra is the first one that truly delivers what others only promise. If you want a robot that actually acts like one, reliable, low maintenance and smart, this is it.

I’ve had the DREAME L50 Ultra for about a month now and I’m really impressed. The suction power is excellent—definitely stronger than my old robot vacuum—and it actually picks up pet hair and small debris from both carpet and hardwood floors. The DuoBrush design really helps prevent tangling, which used to be a big issue for me.The mopping function is also very effective. I like that it cleans and dries the mop automatically, so I don’t have to touch dirty pads. The auto-empty feature is another time saver—the dustbin really does last a couple of weeks before I need to change the bag.Navigation is precise. It avoids toys and chair legs without bumping into things, and the mapping was quick and accurate. The app is easy to use, and I can set no-go zones or schedule cleanings without hassle.Overall, this feels like a premium robot vacuum. It’s not cheap, but if you want something that truly minimizes manual work, it’s worth the investment.

Setup was straightforward overall, though getting the Wi-Fi connected took a bit of extra time—I had to redo the pairing once before everything clicked. After that, smooth sailing. The app is excellent, packed with options and easy to use.Performance-wise, the Dreame L50 Ultra does a great job. The cleaning and obstacle-avoidance systems work beautifully—it maneuvers around furniture and obstacles without getting stuck, though small rugs can still trip it up once in a while. It’s not fast, and that’s just the trade-off with automation. After years of mopping and vacuuming by hand, I can confidently say I’m much quicker. But that’s the point—coming home to spotless floors without hauling buckets or pushing a vacuum is a luxury worth the wait.

Quick take: This is a premium vac-mop that actually cleans well and needs very little babysitting. It shines on hard floors and low to medium pile carpet. Price is high and battery efficiency could be better, but the overall experience feels genuinely hands off.My home and setupTwo-bedroom space with hardwood and a couple of low pile rugs, plus a shedding pet. I mapped once, divided rooms, set no-go and no-mop zones, then scheduled daily runs. I use standard suction and medium water for routine cleans, high suction for sandier spots.Build and navigationLidar mapping is quick and accurate. Obstacle avoidance is reliable enough that I do not pre-clean cables or shoes anymore. The robot keeps a straight path, returns to missed areas, and edges along baseboards without slamming into furniture.Thresholds and room transitionsThe climbing mechanism gets over door tracks that stop many bots. In practice that means fewer stuck alerts and fewer half-finished runs. It also lifts the mop pads when it rolls onto carpet, so mixed floor plans are not a problem.Vacuuming performanceHard floor pickup is excellent. Crumbs, rice, and pet hair disappear in a single pass, and corners clean up if I angle the side brush into the wall. On rugs, surface debris comes up easily. For gritty sand in the fibers I use a second pass on higher suction and it does the job.Mopping performanceThe dual spinning pads give real downward pressure, so dried coffee drips and light kitchen stains come up with a slow pass. Carpets stay dry thanks to the auto-lift. Edge coverage is better than average and the floor does not feel overly wet afterward when I keep the water level at medium.Docking and maintenanceThe base empties the dust, washes the pads with hot water, and dries them. That turns weekly maintenance into quick checks. I still empty the dirty water tank and top up clean water as needed, but I am not scrubbing pads by hand.Battery and noiseNoise is apartment friendly on standard power. Battery efficiency is fine for routine daily cleans, and the robot will recharge and resume for bigger jobs. If you want to vacuum on max power for very large spaces, expect a mid-run top up.What I like• Strong pickup on hard floors and pet hair• Reliable obstacle avoidance and room mapping• Threshold climbing that keeps runs continuous• Hands off dock that empties, washes, and driesWhat to know before buying• Premium price, so watch for promos• Battery efficiency is not class leading on higher suction• Consumables like dust bags, rollers, and pads add to long-term cost• The app is powerful but has a short learning curve to set zones and routines wellBottom lineIf you want a mostly hands off cleaner that vacuums and mops well and can handle tricky thresholds, this is easy to recommend. I would rate it 4 out of 5 for performance and autonomy, minus a star for the premium price and average battery efficiency on high.

Well I had ultimately hoped it would work great I was prepared for it to work, okay at best. I have been pleasantly surprised. It definitely does a better job than I would have done with the limited time I have, not to mention it does everyday without a problem. The obstacle avoidance works well, even if a little sensitive at times, but even after a couple of weeks I haven’t had to get it unstuck. In a house with 3 dogs and two toddlers im not sure our floors have been this clean on a regular basis since… ever lol.
