The Zircon Leak Alert electronic water detector is now available in a 2, 5 or 8 Pack. This Home Pack includes 5 leak detectors to meet the specific needs of your property. Please note batteries are not included. The Leak Alert is a water sensor that emits a loud (90Db) alarm that will sound with any direct water contact. Protect your property from water damage by placing your Leak Alert in any place that has potential for flooding or leaks such as near water heaters, sinks, dishwashers, sump pumps, and more. The Leak Alert is a water leak sensor and water alarm that requires an easily installed 9V battery. Each water detector alarm is battery operated, wireless and fully automatic so no wiring or hub is required. Just like your smoke detectors, remember to check and replace your Leak Alert batteries every year. Should flooding occur, the water leak detector will float and continue to sound an auditory alarm so it can be heard from a distance. The Leak Alert has a low battery warning for optimum performance. The Leak Alert is the perfect water detector for HOA, multi-unit, and multi-story property managements. It is also the best water detector to protect your apartment, home or office. The Zircon Leak Alert Home Pack allows you to save money and protect your entire property with one purchase.
Loud (90dB) alarm sounds when even the slightest amount of moisture is detected
In flood situations, the Leak Alert water detector is engineered to float and continue to sound the SOS alarm for up to 72 hours or until the battery is exhausted
Includes 5 Leak Alert units and detailed instructions
Fully automatic battery-powered operation – no wiring required for this leak sensor. Like your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a low battery warning chirps an alarm when it is time to replace the 9V battery
Place in basements, bathrooms, kitchens, or wherever there is a potential for leaks. Common placements of the leak detector are near sump pumps, water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, under sinks, etc

    Works great after firmware upgrade
The Zircon Leak Alert WiFi meets the need for a self-contained wireless water alert and is greatly improved with the latest firmware.First the Pros….A big plus for the Zircon is that it is all self-contained. You do not need a base station or any kind of additional wiring. It runs on a single CR123 lithium battery that is easy to replace. The setup, although different, is reasonably easy if you understand basic WiFi. To configure, you press a button that commands the box to create its own SSID. Find it on your phone and log in. You then tell the Zircon about your regular WiFi, select that SSID and enter the password. You will not be able to interact with the sensor after that unless you go into private SSID mode again. If you understand all that then you should not have trouble with the rest of the setup. One thing to make clear…Wireless alerts are by email and it is no longer possible to alert by email AND messaging using SMS on many cellular systems. Perform an internet search on how to send an SMS message by email to your smartphone. It varies by carrier. It works great on some and you can get an alert immediately. That is no longer possible with AT&T. AT&T eliminated SMS by email. HUGE disappointment. Now to the cons…It used to eat up batteries much faster than a non-wifi model. The latest firmware update corrected that serious flaw and the iffy battery ‘End-Of-Life’ message. Occasionally it will message you about a spent battery but this is rare; Zircon, this was a big deal – thank you for fixing it. The Zircon also now sends out a regular health report every week, not six days. You read that right, it was every SIX DAYS. What were you thinking? Thank you for fixing that as well.Another con is shorter WiFi range than other devices. A small box placed on a concrete slab limits range. Tiny antenna. It is what it is.In summary, I hope that Zircon keeps selling these WiFi alerts. We have six. Some under sinks, by a water heater, by a sump pump. They have saved us from rotting wood and a flooded basement. With the firmware fix I am giving it 5 stars because the AT&T SMS-by-email change is not Zircon’s fault.

    Simple unit works as expected
This isn’t a rocket science unit and that’s good for those who want to get a leak detector in place quickly without complication. Tested and they work and I sleep better at night.

Peace of mind to protect your house
I have been putting these on every water heater we come across. These saves many apartments building by getting an early warning, I buy these all the time. Worth the value and pays for itself year after year. When you change your smoke alarm batteries change these also. It lasts at least 10 years.

    Useful and Reliable
These are useful and pretty reliable. Have one under every sink, toilet, dishwasher, fridge, clothes washer, water heater, HVAC, etc., in my house where water is used. Cheap insurance against water leaks and has given me early alerts of several leaks over the years. They have probably saved me quite a bit in repairs from slow leaks can often otherwise go undetected until damage is done. One star off for price…..should only be about 10 bucks each at most and price has gone up too sharply over the past few years.

Loud alerts when water is detected
After having a dishwasher inlet valve leak and not knowing it, the cabinets absorbed a lot of water and mold started to grow. This resulted in a whole kitchen remodel which ended up being basically a whole house remodel. Since then, I’ve placed one of these any place that water could leak, i.e. under dishwasher, under sinks, beside water heater. I’ve also placed one in the A/C return plenum. When water is detected, these emit a loud noise which allows me to shut the water off or do something to catch the water. I have a sink in the garage and if a lot of ice from a cooler is put in it, the condensation under the sink will cause the alarm to go off. After the house remodel, we did one of the bathrooms. A valve under the sink was turned off and started leaking. The alarm started sounding and alerted me to the leak. I was able to shut the water off in time to keep from having other problems. I now keep spares and also change the batteries each fall when the time changes.

If you have basement water issues, this is the solution.
Two times now, I have had water problems in our basement that could EASILY have been caught (while we were home) if we had one of these. The third time a water problem was caught by one of these, but the water needed to travel about 20 feet to the water heater buzzer in order to trigger it.The first time, our water heater tank somehow ruptured at the base and started gushing water onto the floor. It is a damn good thing we were home, because the water would have kept leaking until someone shut off the water. Fortunately, I went downstairs barefoot to get some paper towels and walked right into the warm water. I added one of these devices after getting a new water heater. The second time, our water line sprung a tiny hair-sized leak in the copper line. This wasn’t as big a problem due to the leak size, and after having that line repaired, I added another one of these in that general area. The third time, we accidentally left the plug in our basement laundry drain sink and when the water softener ran into that sink, it eventually overflowed and spilled on the floor. The problem never got completely out of hand, but I wish I knew about it sooner rather than when the water heater buzzer went off. Now we have a third buzzer at that location. These are a great value, and the only maintenance is to change the battery every year.

    A must for every home.
My plumber recommended these. Have one in every spot where water could possibly leak. Really offer peace of mind. Does give off loud alarm when water is detected. Highly recommend.

How do you give a review on an item that just sits on the floor next to the grey water drain in the basement. You hope to never have to see this gadget actually working since that means the basement drain is backing up…..again!!!! It does give us a bit of peace of mind being down there though. If the drain should back up I’m not sure if we would hear the alarm since our home is quite large and that drain is down in the basement next to the furnace. Hopefully we will never see this item actually doing what it’s supposed to do.

I bought the 5 pack…one for under the kitchen sink…two under bathroom sinks..and two next to the washing machine. I put a paper towel underneath the sensor to increase the area of sensitivity…Very easy to setup,,,Reasonable price.Good for apartments or homes…Its loud …it is about the same as a smoke alarm..I tested it out and it is very sensitive. They look well built and like i say very easy to setup

I tested this alarm prior to putting it downstairs: was very loud and only took a drop of water. It would be nice if insurance companies accepted this as a water alarm (they do not) but at least I have peace of mind if I have a leak in the middle of the night.
