SQ vs Yamaha AS701
This little amp replaced Yamaha AS701 + RPI streamer with DAC (gustard A18) , i was surprised that sound quality seems to be better, even without EQ (EQ is extra bonus to tune room bass deviations to 400-500 hz) , bass goes slightly deeper and is more massive (few db), also i hear more details with this small “miracle” , sound is transparent and clean (DAC 9039q2m is fully transparent) , dynamics is also very good, power is ok and enough for floorstanding speakers 80l BR, SB Acoustics SB29NRX75 + MR18-P + Peerless HDS 810921 – +/- 86dB, 3.5-8ohm, room cca 36m2, HDMI arc is super to adjust TV volume from TV remote, autosensing withou problem, NAS connection OK (after indexing in media server) , value for money is 100 procent, setup easy, only missing audio line out to try different amlifier

High Quality and Dead Simple Integrated Amp
Great device! Setup was very simple. It does require an App, but very easy to navigate and useful for making a few adjustments to the calibration. The screen is a little cheap and even on the black screen with white text, the black is pretty much gray. So it sticks out in the cabinet I have. That would be the only knock I have, and it doesn’t deem taking off a half or full star. The HDMI eArc was a little finicky and required a restart of the TV and Stereo, but has worked flawlessly since.Powers Klipsch Heresy’s without issue and the sub out and crossover settings are very simple to configure.Spotify connect is instant too!

Wonderful
I can honestly say that this is the best high-tech product I have purchased to date. The sound reproduction is awesome, and the built-in room adjusting software is just fantastic. I have multiple eq presets for day and night, and the remote is awesome. Not only was it compatible with my system, but it also has an alternate input connection for sidecar components. I paired it with brand new Martin bookshelf speakers, and I am the envy of the place for sound quality, reproduction, ease of use, and multi-function capability. IF you are just starting out. Buy this and a good set of bookshelf speakers. Be prepared to be blown away.

Awesome little amp
I bought this WiiM Amp Ultra as an upgrade from the Amp Pro, mainly for the kick in power from 60 watts per channel to 100, but also for the advertised improved tech inside. In a nutshell, it was totally worth it. While on paper the increase in output should only mean a few db’s, in practice it was immediately noticeable. Everything sounds cleaner and more detailed across the frequency spectrum, and it definitely drives my speakers better. My main sound source is Apple Music from an iPhone over Bluetooth; my speakers are 3-way towers and a 12” subwoofer, and they’ve never sounded better. As noted by others already, setup is a breeze: install the WiiM Home app, plug the amp in, connect to your phone, give it a few minutes to upgrade its firmware, and you’re off and running. There’s a LOT of functionality in the app, so be sure to familiarize yourself with everything it does, but I found it to be very intuitive and user-friendly. Bass management for customizing your subwoofer setup is superb; Room Fit dies an excellent job of customizing the EQ for your room; and then you can use the parametric EQ or graphic EQ to further tweak the sound to your liking. If you’re looking for a simple, one-piece solution with plenty of power and built-in streaming capability for most of the popular services, this unit is worth a serious look.

amazing amp… get proper cables!
I love the sound of this amp. It is driving a pair of ELAC Debut Reference DBR62 speakers, and sound quality is outstanding. When I first got this combination, I was not satisfied with the sound – the highs were harsh and hissing, there was no cohesion in the music. I almost wanted to send it back, but then I realized that I reused the old cables from my previous system – those were Monoprice 14AWG speaker cables (with clear outer shell), connected as bare wires to the speakers and to the little terminals provided with the Wiim amp. As a last resort, I ordered Canare 4S11 cables from B&H, and the change was so drastic I still can’t believe it! My amp + speakers became alive and very musical. I was skeptical that a speaker cable could make such a difference, particularly because I thought that the 14G copper wire would be enough, but the improvement was obvious and huge. These cables aren’t cheap but worth every penny. This amp has become a centerpiece of my music system – I connected my Onkyo CD player via optical, TV via HDMI ARC, and Spotify via Ethernet – everything works, and works great! What an achievement for Wiim.UPDATE: you can now select a DAC filter in the WiiM app (under Audio Output) – the default is Minimum phase, but I suggest changing it to Linear Phase Fast Roll-Off, since it will more closely represent the original music, and to my ears it sounds better.

Great hardware but app is lacking
Great sound clarity and power. I like the compact size for my shelf. The remote is metal and good quality. I’d give the hardware itself 5 stars. The app falls a bit short. Navigation could be more intuitive. It all works as it should and connects fast but finding what you want in the app isn’t the quickest. I had challenges and errors in app using an external mic to tune. I also wish it supported the XM radio app.

Excellent HiFi !!!!!!!
I am upgrading from a Yamaha A-S701 integrated with a WiiM pro plus, and Klipsch towers. I wanted to buy this WiiM amp ultra because it was a fraction of the cost on my current system. It is an all in one and I am interested in the new tech it has. Room correction is required for me as I have peaks at 200hz and keep blowing speakers because of it..The ultra is connected to my Wharfedale Diamond 220 (4ohm) bookshelf speakers crossed over at 80hz and a Klipsch R-101sw sub. The WiiM amp ultra is smooth and very powerful. I was concerned it would not drive my Diamonds. It does so with ease. Even at 90db levels. The WiiM amp ultra is very smooth and powerful. Does the work without a hint of stain and looks very aesthetically pleasing in the process. I highly recommend this amp for any high fidelity 2 channel listener!

This has been a fantastic upgrade from the nice 30 year-old Yamaha amp I was using before it.Definitely don’t skip the room setup in the app, it made a massive difference to the fullness of the sound I was getting in my room. Combined with setting gain for all of my inputs and adjusting EQ to my tastes, I’ve got it sounding great and I’m very happy with the amp. It’s so nice having modern connectivity options!I also got excellent service from the seller when I had some concerns about the state of the packaging when it arrived.

I have a record deck which has been connected to a famous wireless system made by a company whose name begins with ‘S’ and which became obsolete and unsupported which I found unacceptable but the app wouldn’t even recognise my transmitter and speakers. I purchased the amp ultra and two ‘sound’ speakers. Expensive but wow! Great sound, versatile connectivity through blue tooth, home network, cable. Sound is brilliant and it’s working flawlessly. Fairly straightforward to set up and a great app. The stuff arrived packed in almost indestructible cardboard and was a bit of an effort to unpack but I’m more than happy with the equipment.

I’ve been using an Amp Ultra for about two weeks now, and I must say that it’s a keeper. The Amp Ultra comes in a nice box with a handy remote control and all accessories included, where most other brands only include a powercord nowadays.Setup is really easy, just install the Wiim Home app on your phone or tablet, power on the Amp Ultra and go from there.Just be adviced, the amp’s sounds and instructions are really loud! I believe it was set at 50% volume…Using TuneIn radio app is really easy to set up, including customizable presets, and my Synology NAS was immediately visible in the “Home Music Share” tab. I just created a few bookmarks for easier access, like “album artist”, “album”, ….The touch screen is a nice addition, but I mostly use the app to control the device. In the picture, the protective foil is still in place, so the screen looks a bit blurred. The RoomFit room correction works great and is very easy to use. I like that you can choose to use an external mic, like a Umik1, and use its calibration file. The automated setup even makes a post correction sweep so you can hear/see the actual difference. In my room, a correction range from 40 to 400Hz works best. It takes out the low frequency boom without altering the speaker’s natural voicing. The Amp Ultra has no problem driving my 4ohm Monitor Audio RX8 speakers. For background music in my 80 sqm living room, the volume dial is somewhere between 5 and 10. I’ve had it up to 80 at some point, but that’s (very loud) party level. And it stays clean even at that kind of output.Yes, my NAD C375bee stereo amp has more headroom and reserve when playing very, very loud, but that was to be expected because that amp is a real power house. The Wiim Amp Ultra does get warm. Even playing background music, its casing warms up a bit. Playing loud for a longer time warms it up a bit more, but never “hot to the touch”, just warm. So nothing to be concerned about, the casing was designed to be the heatsink, so it does its job.I also tried the Amp Ultra’s usb out, connected to the dac in the NAD C375bee, and that works perfectly. Just remember to set the maximum output bitrate to whatever your dac supports.I have a little meter connected to the Amp Ultra to measure it’s mains power draw. In standby, it draws 3.5 to 4 watts on a 230volt system. Playing at a moderate volume, that rises to 17 watts. Playing loud, well over 20 watts. There are just a few things I did notice:There is a bit of lag when using the remote. If you, for example, hold down the volume button, the volume will still rise or drop for a second or two after you released the button. But that is just how a Bluetooth remote works.I also would like to see the music library’s “recently added” to be handled differently. Now it shows a few dates and when you select one, you get a list of tracks that were added at that date. I personally would just like to see the most recently added albums. I don’t care about the date I added them, just that I recently added them.Any way, for me, the Amp Ultra is the device I was waiting for. Great build quality, extensive feature set, easy to control, powerfull and a great sound quality at a very modest price.
