Constructed well, not sure if it is 316 or 304 Stainless Steel?
A beautifully designed, shining, stainless steel thermal jug by the reputable Swedish company Aarke, founded in 2013. I had no idea they are selling on Amazon.I do not yet have an Aarke coffee maker, however I have been considering one for months and have read countless reviews. I am not an impulsive buyer, therefore have not decided yet if it is the right machine for me. I prefer to use my Aarke stainless steel French Press for now and I am happy with that.Aarke presents this gorgeous stainless steel thermal carafe that performs well, as it is a double walled, vacuum insulated jug.My coffee was150 degrees upon brewal and 2 hours later, it was 147 degrees Fahrenheit. I made sure that the pouring spout was closed. Beyond 2 hours, I don’t know because I have to sleep now. I will check the temp again in the early morning and return to update my review.It is lightweight, so I can rest assured I won’t get carpal tunnel syndrome pouring coffee for guests from this lovely carafe. On the airplane, well that’s a different story (Flight Attendant here).I do appreciate the non drip spout for perfect pouring. Be sure the spout remains closed to keep coffee warm.Safety wise, the handle and carafe stay cool to the touch while inside the carafe liquids remain steaming hot. (Steam is visible to the naked eye.)The handle design is quite plain though it serves a proper purpose. The handle features a larger, more open design to reduce finger strain. The design is a thick letter D shape and provides a stable grip. My hand fit on it comfortably without squishing fingers.I am disappointed that I do not see a 316 nor a 304 stainless steel logo on the carafe nor anywhere in the specifications section. I even went to the Aarke website to double check.It is dishwasher safe, however I tend to wash items I love by hand with a plant based soap I buy on Amazon called Clean Cult. I don’t want to scratch up my carafe by accidentally rushing and placing it too close to another item in my Dishwasher.Know that stainless steel can tend to build up minerals over time, so now and then it’s a good idea to clean with equal parts of heated white Vinegar and water or Bar Keepers Friend.Am grateful to have received this carafe if even just for aesthetics reasons. Will update with a video this week regarding temperature changes over the hours. Ciao!

Incredibly good at keeping coffee warm
This thermal jug has been a fantastic upgrade for my coffee setup. It fits perfectly under my Aarke machine, almost like it was designed as part of the set, and the build quality is top-notch. The double-wall insulation is the real highlight, coffee stays steaming hot for hours without developing that burnt taste you get when it sits on a warming plate. It’s equally good for keeping cold drinks chilled; I’ve used it during a few long workdays, and the temperature retention is excellent either way. The stainless interior cleans easily, and the exterior feels sturdy with a solid, confident pour. It’s one of those accessories that looks beautiful on the counter but performs just as well as it looks. Interestingly, the machine is smarter than I am, and it took me a little while to figure it out. On this machine, if you hold down the power button (because it only has the one button so different functions are accessed by how long you hold it down) you’re supposed to be able to keep the hot plate on. It wasn’t working when I switched to this carafe and I was getting annoyed. Turns out the machine is smart enough to ONLY turn that feature on when you have the glass carafe installed. With this one, the burner doesn’t even turn on at all because it’s thick and thermally insulated enough to not require any external heat. As a result, it’s much more energy efficient. Honestly, the glass is pretty and we’ll probably clean it up and use it for guests, but for a day-to-day coffee experience where you just want a hot cup available for the first half of the day – this is the best upgrade I could have put on this machine.

Great even without the coffee maker

Das ist eine tolle Kanne und ihr Geld wert, sehr gutes Material und sieht sehr schön auf den gedeckten Kaffeetisch aus. Ich kann sie nur weiter empfehlen. Übrigens die dazugehörige Kaffeemaschine von aarke natürlich auch der Kaffee schmeckt einfach toll.

Die Kanne sieht wunderbar aus, hält kleinere Mengen Kaffee leider gar nicht gut heiß und na klar, man weiß es vor dem Kauf, aber der Vollständigkeit halber: man ist immer am Putzen. Auf der Kanne sieht man jeden Tropfen sofort.
