I purchased this Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector because where I live we experience frequent power outages, and generator use is very common. Small plug in CO + Natural Gas Detector with Verbal Alarms
I have older style detectors and those are as big as most smoke detectors. Because of their size, they tend to either get unplugged or set up in completely remote areas of house. So main goal was looking for something smaller that wouldn’t be in way and then could use constantly in high traffic areas of house? This fits bill perfectly! Entire thing is about size of small flip phone. Design of unit is so could actually share wall plug with something else. Construction quality is that of cheap, plastic toy. So I wouldn’t risk it any where it’s likely to get bumped.I tested mine after a small burn in period and worked like it’s supposed too. The alarm is not loud enough to hear across the house or wake you from say kitchen to bedroom. BUT you cannot miss it if you were walking into room and alarming because of gas or CO. And I really like that it verbally tells you which of 2 is making it alarm so don’t have to walk into room full of gas to read display unlike a lot of cheap units!I tested gas sensor with lighter gas and easy thing to check CO side is compressed air can, like using for cleaning electronics. (FYI, if you didn’t know these are not actually regular “air” but typically compressed hydrocarbons which will displace Oxygen and will set off CO side). Alarms are self clearing once alarm condition is gone. Which is nice that tells you when dangerous situation is clear WITHOUT you going into to reset alarm.I saw some comments basically that the unit didn’t last forever?? Another FYI, these have a catalytic type sensor. These degrade over time as react to gases in atmosphere. They will eventually stop working. Period. And this is case for pretty much all but most expensive units. So go into knowing this and don’t think it’s a forever alarm. But unless saturated constantly with A LOT of gases (like in a garage with car running), should last at least year or two.

Clear, Easy , peace in mind
It’s seems working pretty good. I tested it in the kitchen and works good so I reinstalled it in the hall way, right outside of my bedroom. That brings the peace in mind, protect me and family. Size is smaller than a power bank for the cell phone. It shows temperature, CO, Gas % & RH % ( relative humidity). When you put it in the outlet, it start countdown the CO/Gas as the video shown to 0 ( as pic 2 ). The digital display is very clear to read. I like that it plugs directly into the wall, so there’s no battery to replace, and the self-test button makes it easy to check that it’s working.
