A Great Tool for Controlling Lights from Your Phone
I bought the Shelly relay after reading ChatGPT’s recommendation. I followed the installation video on Amazon, and the setup went smoothly. Once everything was wired and powered on, the Shelly app detected the relay right away.I’m now able to schedule several lights to turn on and off automatically every day, and I can also control them manually from my phone at any time, which is very convenient. That said, there are a few things worth noting for anyone considering this product:1.The 2PM Gen 4 is smaller and actually easier to install than the 1 Gen 4. I originally assumed a single-channel relay would be simpler, but in practice it wasn’t.2.It should only be installed with single-gang switches. Using it with other configurations can cause issues.3.The app works, but the overall user experience could be better and more polished.4.The app doesn’t support sharing access with other users. If you want family members to control the lights, you’ll need to use Amazon Alexa APP. I followed ChatGPT’s instructions and, after trying twice, I was able to get it connected successfully.

I haven’t received anything from Shelly that doesn’t work very well. These are going to run two sets of fan and lights with Home Assistant. I already tested them, just need to do the final install.

Another quality Shelly product
Gen 4 is even better than previous versions, with Matter support built in. I was able to add this module to HomeKit easily. In typical Shelly fashion, this module is well built, packed with features, and rock solid. Improved terminals make it even easier to install. This module can control two separate circuits, which is great for situations where you have a duplex box with two switches controlling two different lights. Small enough to fix in standard wall boxes, but using deeper boxes makes it a little easier to install.

smart home the way it should be!!
WIth Smart Home it is important that a company provide a robust capability AND stay with the products. I added smart-ness to all the storm shutters (on the beach in Florida hurricanes happen but more importantly tornadoes happen). When a major storm event is detected, time is of the essence if it in nearby. So I integrated these into each of the wall switches (one up / one dn) and established the baseline for opening and closing. Then added them all together to form a Alexa enabled panic button. So “Close All Shutters” now sends them all down. With Tornadoes you may only have minutes and can’t run from shutter to shutter to get them down.Then I added a scene which closes two of the eastern side shutters 2/3rds down at 6am. This is to keep the sun’s brightness from waking our 91 yo who needs sleep in the am. Then at 10am they automatically return to full open. Kinda fun.The one thing I want to do is add an Emergency Storm Alert (Tornado) to automatically close the shutters when the Emergency Alert is issued (in our area) in the event we are away or sleeping. Alexa doesn’t handle this well and I don’t expect Shelly to add it (but if they do … please let me know 🙂 )I’m now adding wall outlet controllers and humidity sensors for our home in upstate NY. So dimmers and outlets and sensors all integrated into a coherent solution. Can’t wait!!Highly Recommend

Inoperable in Zigbee mode
Purchased it operate a light and a fan independently. Expected the two channel switch to work in Zigbee mode in Home Assistant, it doesn’t. InZigbee2MQTT a few other settings are exposed but can’t get the basic two channel independent on / off functionality to work. No documentation, found basic info on manual+ website.Update: Shelly app is required to change the mode to “Switch”. Wifi mode works fine. Zigbee is very slow, long delay, switch state gets messed up.

Lo he utilizado para una persiana. Este es el primer Gen4 que uso para las persianas y me ha sorprendido que ya viene preparado con el doble control de subida y bajada, no como en los Gen3 que hay que establecer los dos controles por separado. Esto simplifica mucho la vista en la app cuando tienes muchos dispositivos instalados. Aconsejo emplear este 2PM Gen4 para persianas, estores, puertas de garaje, etc. aunque sea un poco más caro que el 2PM Gen3.

Le Shelly 2PM Gen 4 fonctionne très bien pour mon utilisation. Je l’utilise pour ouvrir et fermer la tapparella depuis le téléphone et pour programmer les horaires d’ouverture et de fermeture. L’appareil fait exactement ce qu’il doit faire, sans problèmes particuliers. Satisfait pour cet usage.

Sto usando lo Shelly 2PM Gen4 da circa un mese e finora mi ha dato ottimi risultati.La cosa che ho notato subito è la stabilità : risponde sempre bene, senza ritardi, e controllare luci o tapparelle è diventato molto più comodo.L’installazione è stata abbastanza semplice e la configurazione tramite app è intuitiva.Molto utile il monitoraggio dei consumi, che mostra in tempo reale quanto assorbono i vari dispositivi: è una funzione che fa comodo per capire se qualcosa sta consumando troppo.Mi piace anche il fatto che sia compatibile con praticamente tutto (Alexa, Google, HomeKit tramite Matter, Wi-Fi, ecc.). Una volta configurato, non ho più dovuto toccare nulla.L’unica cosa da considerare è che ogni canale ha il suo limite di potenza, quindi conviene sempre verificare prima dell’uso, ma per l’uso domestico normale va più che bene.In generale è un prodotto affidabile, comodo e molto utile per chi vuole rendere la casa un po’ più smart.La spedizione di Amazon è stata, come sempre, puntuale e senza problemi.

Excellent product with two channels and power monitoring. Like many of the Shelly products, this offers much more than just wireless switching – the built-in scripting and scheduling allows for a lot of flexibility and will work over the internet or completely locally if you prefer. They will connect directly to Home Assistant if on the same network, and using MQTT when at remote sites. They can also operate as Bluetooth proxies for Home Assistant, again either directly if local or using a BLE to MQTT script for remote locations. Installation as a wireless smart switch is fairly simple, and the small size is great for installing in a box, although you would need to have a deep back box to fit it behind an existing switch. Furthermore, putting it in a typical metal back box found in solid walls in the UK would likely reduce the wireless signal strength, but because are no neutral wire to the switches in my house I put them close to the light fitting, where there are both live and neutral wires, and move the switch wires to the Shelly.
